Slave HD???

Installed a slave HD on to my comp and after 30mins of using pc i get a funny sound from it. It sounds like is powering down or turning it self off. when this happens the pc freezes for 5 seconds then carries on. any ideas?

Are you using that drive in those 30 minutes. I.e. does it do it after 30 minutes of non-use or 30 minutes regardless ? If it is the former, take a look at your Power settings (on XP it is Contraol Panel | Power Options).
It could be set to power down hard disks if not used within a certain period (in this case 30 minutes). I saw this on a machine I had once, the whole machine would lock-up for several seconds and then be OK again. Switched the option to "Never" and never saw the problem again.
