Question

Stoopid basic question, but how the heck do I search for a specific filename (or files beginning with ....) under Linux?

Is it just a simple 'ls' command switch or some bizzaro list of commands a pipes as long as my .......?

find <filesystem> -name <filename>

eg

find /home -name thisfile.out

they're all simple mate ...

Reccommend o'Reilly 'Running Linux' if you are going to use it a lot........
