![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have a laptop with two instances of WinXP Pro installed. The first was corrupt so the shop that it was bought from installed a second instance instead of fixing the first.
There now is a c:\windows and c:\windows.0 directory on the hard disk.
How can i remove the first corrupt instance from the hard disk and also the boot menu ?
Dave

druddle, as figment has said definetly do a fresh install...
come across this before & you will have no end of trouble if you try & delete the other install.
sounds like bods down at the local comp shop should be windowcleaning not fettling computers![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
