Question

I have a laptop with two instances of WinXP Pro installed. The first was corrupt so the shop that it was bought from installed a second instance instead of fixing the first.

There now is a c:\windows and c:\windows.0 directory on the hard disk.

How can i remove the first corrupt instance from the hard disk and also the boot menu ?

Cleanest way is to do a fresh install from scratch.

druddle, as figment has said definetly do a fresh install...
come across this before & you will have no end of trouble if you try & delete the other install.
sounds like bods down at the local comp shop should be windowcleaning not fettling computers
