I have used (in the past) a basic circuit tester with 2 probes, a 9v battery & a buzzer. Make an RJ45 plug with the colours paired at one end & probe the pairs at the other with another jack with just colours coming off. Maplin £7.50 iirc ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Very cheap but allows you to check that the wires are crimped/punched down correctly.
