I am currently sorting out my collection of digital photo's,
Because my digital camera names file like DSCF00001, DSCF00002,
i have lots of photos with the same filename, which makes it hard to sort,

Is there a method or piece of software for renaming files quickly???

My photo's come out of my digital camera in the format xxx-xxxx_img.jpg

Takes about 10 seconds to use Renamer to kill the initial xxx (usually the same code for that batch) and drop the "_img" off for the whole directory.

If your running winXP, Highlight all the pics you want to rename or Ctrl+A and then press F2, Type the new name ie "CAR" and you will get "CAR1" "CAR2" etc
