Your hi-fi is acting just like a big pair of headphones.
Just connect the Audio-out (headphones) from your PC straight into the AUX on your hi-fi. I've always ran my PC like this and so has my brother for years without any problems.

On a similar subject, I have a large collection of vinyl records that I'd like to transfer to CDs. Can I connect the HiFi to the PC somehow so that I can record the records, then burn them onto CD?
Is there anything else I'll need? (have Nero and EasyCD Creator software)

I've done this but not for a while i connected to tape in/out loop on amplifier then used soundforge to record entire album, once it was done i cut the individual tracks to the own wav files and then burnt to cd.

Fig,
Take a look in this months (just out) PC Pro mag. or might have been PC World (don't have them in front of me at the moment). There is an article in one of them all about transferring vinyl, how to remove scratch/hiss noise etc.
Cheers
