If you have two email addresses set up in one profile, all mail collected will go into the same inbox.

If you want to separate them you need to set up one or more rules, e.g.

If mail arrives through address #1 deliver it to inbox #1
If mail arrives through address #2 deliver it to inbox #2

Alternately, if the mail is for different users of your PC, you can set up profiles, each with their own email addresses/settings etc., so that when each user is on the PC they only get mail from their own address.

I have my Outlook set up to download 2 mail accounts. The first one is the one as per my profile, and when i set the second one up yesterday, all my mail now gets delivered to the new address, and the new address Inbox has the "Outlook Today" icon on it, and not on the original address I set up.

How can i set which mailbox is the default, and ensure that the right mail goes to the right mailbox ?

Tools, Accounts and right click on the mail account you want as default, set as default.......

 

I have set the original mail addy as the default, and it still delivers all mail for both addresses to the other mailbox.

I am using Office XP with SP2 installed.
