Internet slow because of the virus?

NTL has been very slow for the last couple of evenings (600k broadband) - is anyone else suffering this? Is it because of the MSblast worm or potentially something else?

About 8% of the computers we've scanned on McAfee.com are infected with this threat. We scanned a lot of machines yesterday, that's a lot of traffic. Bear in mind that 87% of statistics are made up and I'm a compulsive liar

I've noticed things are a bit slow. It could related to the Virus threat. Also noticed that sites such as the Windows Update are a little slow (can't think why). I reckon it will settle down in a day or so.
