Office 2000 problems

I have loaded office onto a PC running windows me.
When you load excel everything is fine, but when you try and open word the machine just crashes. It doesn't matter weather it is in safe mode or normal it keeps doing it.
I have re loaded office and repaired it.
When you try and open it, it says you are low on resources but this is not the case because I have checked.
It's got 128mb of ram, 900mhz and no programs running in the back ground
Has anybody got any ideas on what to do apart from, re load the machine
