This has been going some time on my pc, but i have finally given up the willpower to take anymore.

I first noticed it when i was playing MP3's. The whole track will play(no matter what song), but skips, like a cd skips, it misses a word or something. I thought, maybe its just where i copied it from a CD to MP3, so i tried copying to WMA, same again, even a MPŁ from the net, same again.

Even now I have noticed it as im watching a film or something.

I dont know how to go about resolving the problem, It wouldnt be the processor would it.

Ive re-installed media player and tried other player, same???????
WTF

any help would be fantastic,

Thanks very much

Tony

If you have the latest drivers for your soundcard . . . I would also recommend running a thorough Scandisk and also Defragment your hard disk. Problems like this can be caused by hard disk problems.

Also try installing a new MP3 codec like the Fraunhofer one, could be that your codec is damaged (edit: This sounds most likely to me)

I had this problem with an AMD 1.4 on an Epox mobo with integrated sound. Assumed it was the integrated sound being ****e so bought a good sound card. Still did it.

Total Re-install, including pulling all cards and forcing a reallocation of the IRQs etc sorted it. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING fixed it short of that.

Real pain in the ***. I feel for you on this one.
