I have done it before but I will be fudged if I can remember how !!
How do I change the default prog. for opening files ?
ie. photoshop for jpg, media player for mp3 ect.

Depends on the OS. For XP, From Windows Explorer, right click sample file, Open With > Choose Program, choose the one you want, then tick Always Use.......
or:
Tools > Folder Options > File Types
