Do everyone have such a high number of intrusions & blocks or are my settings not quite right? several hundred a day

I use BlackIce to protect my PC from unknown scum and yes it is a common occurrence to see many events. They tend to be 'Port probes', other people machines browsing the network and are considered harmless. The only time to worry is when the same remote machine repetitively keeps probing your computer as they could be looking to hack into your PC. If you are using the right package, which it looks like you are, then it should prevent you from any unnecessary intruders.

then it should prevent you from any unnecessary intruders
Please don't think that these home based firewall packages will 100% protect you.
Packages like zonealarm, blackice, NIS, Tiny are relativly easy to bypass. Your running a software package, designed with praticality in mind on the target machine. Not ideal !
