Question

Can anyone remember any classic, top down, scrolling, arcade shoot-em-ups ?

Games like 1942, but with spaceships preferred. The really hard ones, with uber power-ups

Thanks

Kind-of. Thinking more 1993 onwards. The ones where you collect power-ups of the same colour to increase your weapons, spring to mind. Can't think of the titles

LOL Can't beat the old classics. I can't help but think that a lot of the new games around have lost the original playability and creativity that the old games had.

We like to recreate that old 'Mini-Arcade in the back of the Kebab Shop' on occasion

one of the best top down scrollers for the PC I've ever played is a game called raptor, its shareware as well so pretty cheap.
