Question

Is there any way (or program available) to let me use a PDA as a programmable multi-remote control ?? I assume the PDA will require IrDa or summat like that.

Druddle. Yes there is..... there is something called PDAWin TVRemote. You can download files for remotes from here Remote Files to save you having to program them in.

It controls devices via infra-red.

Email me if you want more info

Let us know how you go. I have been told the range on "consumer IR" is pretty bad on the PDAs. Otherwise it is a great idea isn't it?

My P800 works great to change the TV channel - have to get up and take it within a few foot of TV though...

the newer IPAQS have consumer IR ie better range. I've controlled TV, Sat, Tivo, PS2 etc from 17ft away with a 3970 and 5450

AFAIK the Compaq 3970 comes with remote control software built into the ROM, something called NEVO I think.
