I have an old notebook with 48MB of memory - 16MB on-board EDO plus a pair of 16MB DIMMs.
It will support up to a pair of 32MB DIMMs, but can i find them anywhere (at a decent price). Those few places that have 'em are selling them for between GBP40 and GBP50 each - eek! I can buy memory ten times the size for the same price
Obviously this is because 32MB isn't a common size these days, thus economies of scale don't apply
So, does anyone have any ideas how i can get hold of 32MB DIMMs (for a digital HiNote VP575) at a cheap price - even second hand as there must be some places that re-cycle old notebooks????
Thanks in advance,
mb

Suba,
thanks - a very interesting web-site which is now bookmarked
chiark,
trouble is, i need a matched pair
TBH, i might just stick with what i have got and use Windows95. It seems crazy that to upgrade the memory and battery will cost around GBP250 - for a 166MHz machine For just double that i can get a low-end but much higher spec new laptop.
