LG drive suck for this you can't just rcp1 the firmware 
i'll have a ganders again but last time i looked for my combo drive i could only change it 5 times and then i had to use a little proggy (sorry cant rememebr name at mo) which then gave me the 5 region changes back but after doing this 5 times it wont work any more.

The problem Im having is that it played a few DVDs in the past but not it wont even play any. getting a message about the region. maybe its time to buy a better DVD drive

and it works a treat my pioneer dvd rw (currently no rpc hack) which would not do something is now doing it fine
