I have recently let windows update loose on my system in a bid to prevent being hit by something like blaster again. However, after it has finished my system seems to be running really slow and applications like IE, Word, Access etc seem to take an age to open. I remember a while back there was a patch which was known to cause slowing of the system but cant seem to see it on my add/remove programs screen. This is what is show in add/remove programs at the moment:



Can anyone suggest which one of these might have caused this?

This was the culprit, but was corrected in May.

Have you checked CPU load during the startup of the apps?
