Anyone want to start a BF1942 CLAN ?

Guys where you get your downloads from apart form fileplanet as I refuse to have to sign up for an account just to get free files [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
I'm after the 1.5 patch and it doesn't seem easy to get hold of. Its not on battlefield1942.co.uk and planetbattlefield uses fileplanet
Also do you have to play online through gamespy? Never had to use gamespy before so dont know how it works. I tried to connect bf1942 to a game but just kept saying failed to connect. I take it thats cos gamespy has to be running and logged in? If it is then thats cr@p cos never had to log into anywhere before to play online with games.

also you definitely need the desert combat download

you dont need either as the game has its own built in program to find game servers. i think this is built in gamespy
howeevr from my experience nothing beat the all seeing eye.
it just makes finding filtering and connecting to servers so much easier. best of all its free

I love the game.
Only had it a week, and not played it much, but it shows huge potential.
I won't have a lot of free time to play, but I'd like to be part of a ScoobyNet Clan if you'll have me.

I have been playing this game since the very beginning and was heavily in with one of the best UK BF clans,{SAS}, but due to some major differences between the main leader and most of us, Myself and a mate broke away from there and started our own, |FTA|. Almost the entire clan came with us, which is good 
We have our own server etc and are happily accepting members to trial for the clan. www.ftaclan.com Feel free to drop by.
We play for fun but are also getting pretty heavily back into the competetive stuff too.

Ahh Nick, where did you host your server with ??
If we dont get enough scoob owners can we join you lost for a battle to the death ??

we are not exactly innundated by members at the moment
a clan should have at leats 10 members really

LOL at sheepsplitter dont worry about being new to the game any one, so long as we dont shoot each other thats the main thing !!!
(i got kicked from a Retern to Castle Wolfenstien because i was killing more team members than the opposite side LOL )

oh and i've got a spare domain with 1gb disk space, Mysql, PHP if we need a 'homepage'. Could get a forum going (takes 5 minutes to setup) where we could arrange matches and stuff......just a thought.
