Has anyone got any links to useful sites or information concerning building a dedicated Media/PVR PC. Any info regarding best Video Cards, Audio, MB's, Cases etc would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Michael

Si,

The Nebula card gives you all current terrestial free to view channels, and was already on my list of possible devices.

With relation to the shuttle systems, are they worth the premium over just assembling in a standard case ?

thanks,

Michael

micheal i don't think they really are more expensive, your getting a case (£40) motherboard with onboard gfx, soundcard including digital in out, lan (£100) cpu cooler (£30) and thats not far off a shuttle
There cracking little systems mine currently running a 1.7 celeron and alll in all cost me £300 quid as i had some spares lying around

Have a look at

www.overclockers.co.uk

they seem to have pretty good prices on the Shuttle cases (even have the new Athlon64 one). They deliver very quickly in my experience, order one afternoon - delivery next morning.

I get all the Freeview channels and raido stations on freeview.. You can record any channel and if ur crazy enough the whole Digital Dlownlink so all channels at once.!!! takes loads of disk space.

Not got anyproblems to talk of. The recordings are great best card iv seen so far...
