I would like my computer to be the host computer of a virtual private network but haven't got a clue what to do. I am running win xp and I have broadband and the other computers are on XP and 98. Anybody know how to do this or any wep pages which tell you how to set this up.

This was disscussed a few weeks back if you can find it.
Since I am a Lniux Lover and not a Windows Wally, I recommended putting up a unix type box and running FreeSWAN as your VPN server.
All your really looking to do is implement the IPSec. There is loads of documentation on this on the net

You should be able to do this using one of the XP boxes, if you go to the properties of my netwirk places, and then add a new connection, then allow someone to connect to my machine, you should then walk through a wizard that will set it all up for you.
You will need to check that your router allows IPSEC and PPTP traffic in/out.

Check and see if your router, assuming you have one, can act as a VPN end point. I'd say that's the most simple way of doing it and once configured it just all works by magic.
