Hi All

Thinking of getting my first (own) PC instead of works ones and found this:

IBM Desktop PC, 300PL
Intel Pentium III 500MHZ, 512K LVL2 Cache
128MB SDRAM
13GB Hard drive
S3 Video Graphics
40X CD Rom Drive
Floppy Drive
Onboard Network (Rj45)
Sound Card Crystal Audio and built in speakers
2 X USB Ports
2 X Serial
PS2 Ports
MIC IN and MIC OUT

How easy will it be to upgrade this when I get bored?

Thanks in advance

Paul

You'd need to do some research on what processors it goes up to..
Memory - depends on the amount of slots it has, sometimes boards of this age only go up to 256Mb or 512Mb tops

Hard disk upgrade is probably fairly easy..

Check that you can install a decent AGP or PCI graphics card if the on-board(I assume) one is a bit w4nk..

You might be able to reuse the keyboard and mouse.

The rest of it will need to be binned if you upgrade. P3's did'nt go much faster than 800 I think.

Depends on what you want to do with it.

Only want to play basic games like grand prix legends and GP3 on it and that's it. I have been told that it's got 3 memory slots and I already have a graphics card in my works machine that I can remove. I know it's not going to be amazing but just want to play GPL. I just want something I can upgrade as I go along.

Thanks

Paul

I'm no expert but a lot depends on your motherboard, and what bus speed it is.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
