Can anyone tell me - bought the above around march this year - before all the Barton stuff came out..

Will the multiplier be locked at 13x or do they come unlocked?

Anyone know anywhere i can find out?

Hi,

An XP2700+ should give you access to the lower multipliers, assuming your bios unlocks tbredbs

I can play with the FSB - but any reduction in the multiplier causes the PC to hang. Am i really stuck or am i missing something?

Some MOBO's dont fully support all of the multiplier options. Try 10 X 200, then 10.5, then 11 etc. Its only really worth mucking about with the multipliers if your going for a 200 fsb.

If you cannot get these then your MOBO does not support the fifth bit and you will need to try the wire trick.
