Question

Just installed a new SCSI card in my XP PC and can't see the external CD-Writer in My Computer or Explorer. I can see the SCSI card and CD-Writer in the Device Manager and all looks OK. When I put a CD in the CD-Writer a little CD icon appears next to the mouse pointer as the CD is spining up. Can any one shed any light?

Can you see it in the disk management console when a CD is in the drive?

Right click My Computer, then Manage, Disk Management. Perhaps you just need to assign it a drive letter for Explorer etc to see it.

Jye,

Spot on m8, the PC had allocated it a drive letter that was already in use by a network drive.

Cheers,
Si.
