Have just put a sonicwall soho3 25V on our broadband to allow VPN to another site (not setup yet). It's registed, etc and web access is working to a degree...except for the following:
Webmail: Sites like Yahoo, Hotmail, Tiscali and even a Titan webmail account I use just don't work Instead of loading the relevant page, I'm getting a page cannot be displayed error but nothing in the firewall's logs![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
The sonics have public WAN IP's so if I give my laptop this public IP and bang it straight into the 1710 I can see the webmail pages so there is deffo something not set on the sonic...any suggestions? (I only have 8x5 support
)
Cheers, Jon

Ps. Lee, if you are reading
the webmail is excellent
However, the firewall means I can only login, see my inbox, read my mail, compose a new mail but the minute I hit send it falls over due to sonicwall.
Similar problem with yahoo...I can log on but not view inbox or other folders...just times out.
All the URL's are in the content filtering's allow URL list but I can't get to them even when I turn the content filtering off so I'm wondering if I need to open a non-specific port or something?
should not be necessary when running NAT I would have thought

SERVICES
Web (HTTP)
File Transfer (FTP)
Send Email (SMTP)
Retrieve Email (POP3)
Name Service (DNS)
News (NNTP)
Ping
Key Exchange (IKE)
RULES
3 Allow Web (HTTP) * 192.168.25.1 (LAN)
4 Allow VPN * 192.168.25.1 (LAN)
5 Allow VPN-2 * 192.168.25.1 (LAN)
6 Allow Send Email (SMTP) * 192.168.25.1 (LAN)
9 Allow File Transfer (FTP) * 192.168.25.1 (LAN)
10 Allow Retrieve Email (POP3) * 192.168.25.1 (LAN)
11 Deny Default * LAN
12 Allow Default LAN *
The above settings (bar a few selected removed
) are the exact settings for a SOHO3 for a site I used to maintain. 192.168.25.1 was the external NIC for a server which is the gateway to the network. 192.168.25.10 is the Sonicwall.
No content filtering set. This allowed Webmail access for Lee's stuff, I know 'cos I use it & there were no other sites restricted. Maybe re-set to default then try again?

Thanks PTMW,
Tried resetting to default and turning all CFS off but still no joy. The log seems to have a lot of ICMP Packets being dropped - related possibly?

Just spoke to Rob @ SonicWall Support in Holland. At last I got hold of a support agent who knew what he was doing!!
Turns out that I needed to force the Ethernet Settings to 100Mbps and Full Duplex rather than leave on Auto Negotiate. Changed and has solved the problem![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thanks for your input Puff
