Ive just started using Outlook to connect to the Exchange server at work (used to use outweb). Had Office XP but that didnt work. Now using Office 2000. Outlook connects fine (via nortel extranet client) and I can see my mails, folder list etc.

But then it moves all my mails in my work inbox to a default inbox on my home pc. It does this one by one and covers all mails whether read or not. I then have to manually move them back to the work inbox before I close outlook, otherwise I get to work and they arent there.

Ive checked every setting I can find and cant see anything to change this. Anyone got and ideas please?

Thanks,
Simon.

Sounds to me like you need to Reconfigure Mail Support to a Corporate environment.

How does the extranet client work? Is it like a vpn dialer program?

Also it sounds like you are using it with a Personal Folder retrieving mail imap style.

Just thought of something else

In Outlook 2000, on the Tools menu, is there a "Services" or "EMail Accounts" option there?

"Services" = Corporate mode
"EMail Accounts" = Internet only mode

If you are in Corporate mode then there is a option to deliver mail to a pst file.

I think I have confused myself now, can't even remember the original question

If it is in corporate mode then you need to configure the "Delivery" tab under services/exchange server. The delivery location should be set to your mailbox. If it is set to personal folders it will do exactly as you describe, moving one by one from one inbox to the other in personal folders.
