My uncle's just got his first pc, he wants tp type a list of things, and then get the organized alphbetically, is that possible without doing a spreadsheet???

From Microsoft help:

Select the list or table you want to sort.
On the Table menu, click Sort.
Select the sort options you want.
For Help on an option, click the question mark and then click the option.
