I've got Blueyonder Broadband. Want to hook my PC and Laptop to a Wireless router for laptop roaming.
Anyone got experience of Linksys WRT54G model or Netgear WGR614 in terms of ease of setup & config and hardware reliability. The PC will be connected via ethernet port as thats more or less where the cable modem is. Laptop will be wireless.

ash,
would avoid lynksys imo..
netgear ok though..
Would prob reccommed dlink stuff
http://www.dlink.co.uk
go for a
DI-624+ (4 port router) 54mb/s
DWL-AG650+ (PCMIA Card) 54mb/s
very easy to setup
Edit: (read the post again-added this)
also Plug your modem into the router.. and bit of cat5 from PC to one of the four LAN ports on the 624+, benefit from the firewall too...
Cheers
Tim

Why avoid linksys? I've got a WRT54G router and associated 54g cards (pcmcia wireless in the laptop, pci wireless in 1 pc, 2 other pcs wired, and even got the xbox wired into it as well), and it all works like a dream, with full security, tunnelling for specific apps etc.
We have DLink access points in the offices at work, and we have generally been very dissapointed with them. They seem ok if you sit next to them, but the signal dropoff is pretty bad when you move away.
Edited to say....
The WRT54G was VERY easy to set up, seems incredibly reliable, has loads of good features, (very configurable hardware firewall built in), and the whole thing is flash upgradable as well. The wireless transmission seem very good as well. I can stand right down the end of the back garden and still get a full strength signal (the routeris at the front of the house).
As you may have gathered, I'm very impressed with it
