the development chaps here each have an iPod, one has the original one, the other has the newer model. They quite like them, and they do look rather nice.
As for battery life, well, they've not had any complaints, plus it IS possible to get the battery changed, Apple's now realised that saying you can't was a) a big fat lie, b) a very silly thing to do.

Got the previous model.
Brilliant machine, very well made, quality materials.
Wish I'd got the current docking station model, as I could put my photos stright on it without going through a pc, useful on the road.

Best thing since sliced bread so go and buy one
I change mine at home through the firewire post on my PC and at work I use the plug which came with the iPod and a charge lead which Virgin shop sells for £15 so no battery problems for me
