not 100% sure what you are asking. Do you want to use it for a conference call?

If so, Netmeeting (its free with Windows) is your product.

I want to be able to chat to and see on screen 3 or 4 friends (who have different PCs) at the same time.

Basically a multi-way audio/video conference. Same as I can do on Messenger, but with more than one other person/PC.

Sounds like a conference call to me. Netmeeting is what you need as I'm pretty sure messenger will only allow one to one connections

Default Try Yahoo messenger

I've used Yahoo messenger for a multiway (4, IIRC) audio conference. I don't know what its video-conferencing capabilities are.

unfortunately messenger or netmeeting only allow one to one for video/audio. you only can have multiple "chat" by typing.

Talking

MSN can have more than one person conversation.
My friend set it up so that there were 4 of us all talking. I am not sure how she did it but she did
If you want I can find out for you

You can have multiple chat in one session window

You can have multiple instances of video up - bandwidth & computer resources might need to be considered here.

I have had 2 video up & used a multi-session (3 of us) at the same time but being as I'm 64K, not tried more

Thanks all.

We all have 600 kbs b-band so shouldn't have any probs with b-width.

Sarah - if you could that'd be fab.

PTMW - any more details on how? ta

Just to clarify, when I say 'chat' I mean speak, not type - we all have mics.

Cheers
