Daughters MP3 player started playing up, so as a last resort I tried formatting it

It will accept files OK onto the drive, but displays "no music files". It also displays system "unformat".

I've tried contacting the manufacturer without luck.

Any suggestions ?

Allan

Did you format it on the pc or in the player, my one needs to be formatted in the player via the software i install on pc and can't be read in my card reader, like wise it i format it in card reader, mp3 player can't read it.

Assume they just use a different formatting system FAT32, NTFS etc

Hello

I did this. In the end I had to load the software that came with the player to reformat it.

What player is it?

Steve.

OK thanks guys.

The player is made by ENT, purchased from ebay, hence the lack of customer support.I don't know the model No.
I formatted it on the PC, using the format option when you right click on the drive, I'm using XP.
It did come come with a driver disk for non XP users, I don't know if it has other files.

Right, that was partially successful, the disk indeed did have a formatting utility, well done Steve .

However, when I now plug it back into the PC, it says drive is unformatted.

Do you not also have to use the software to upload mp3's to it

Si, I had been successfully using drag and drop, XP was finding the drive no problem.

Now I just get the message "drive not formatted", I'll take another look at the supplied disk tonight.

Cheers
