Email Storage On A Server How
thinking about offloading email to a server,
2 platforms
outlook express and outlook (diff flavours)
is there a way of pointing the location to a mapped drive elsewhere ie on the server rather than having ot stored locally on your own PC
thanks in advance

I think I've done what you're trying to do.
You need to create a personal folder file on the server in question, via Outlook.
Select 'Tools', 'Services', 'Personal Folders' and press 'Add'.
Select the path to a location on the network share, and create your file there - it'll be called something like 'outlook.pst'. I think the default path is on the PC hard drive.
When you've done this (you may have to exit and restart Outlook) you should have an item on your folder list in Outlook called 'Personal Folders'. All you need to do is move your mails to this folder. You can also create sub-folders within 'Personal Folders' to sort your mails if you wish - you can do this just by right-clicking on the Personal Folders icon and selecting 'New Folder'.
Hope this helps !

Thats exactly how to do it Tony.
Alternatively you can just set the delivery option to be server rather than local folders, then it will leave your mail on the server but this is no really advisable as it could take up loads of space on the server.
