Can anyone help before I put a few bricks through the screen re Outlook?
If I try to send an email or reply to someone elses mail, it puts it in the outbox with the date as "None" and won't send it
I can't find anything on MS site about it so wonder if it's a stupid setup option ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Secondly, what's the best settings for NIS 2004 as it's very intermittent at sending/receiving with either timeouts or server connection interruptions? I've tried most of the options on the Symantec help site but it's a complete PITA and has virtually screwed up my email capabilities![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
So far:
Timeout protection ON
Scan incoming & outgoing emails OFF
Autoprotect OFF
[That doesn't mean you can send all sorts of crud for a laugh
]
It seems to get worse if the pc is on a while and eventually needs a reboot as it's hamstrung everything including getting pages to load etc.
I've reinstalled NIS, detected & repaired Office and it's still playing silly buggers with me![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)

I think so:
The SMTP server is mail.btinternet.com using port 25
I tend to find I quite often can't connect to the POP3 server on my main account. I've just had an error message now saying that it can't access it due to my mailbox being in use (?). It's either that or it times out trying. I even get messages on the bt webmail page that they can't send me the message at the moment and try again later
