Let me first say as a disclaimer that I bought this cd and was dumdfounded to find that I couldn't copy the music to my mp3 player because it was copy protected by the cactus data shield. I want to determine how I listen to music I have bought.
I have no interest in shareing these files with anyone else.
The cd was in it's case doing precisely nothing until I did this so I'm a happy bunny now![](http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/ruinkai/biggthumpup.gif)
OK here's how I achieved this amazing technical feat? Well I placed the cd on a desk under a spot lamp. I angled the cd until I could see the the line of Cactus data that surrounds the outer face of it. It goes in about 5mm or so. I then applied....wait for it.....TIPEX to the whole of that outer surround.
Tried to play it on the computer. Didn't work. The cd skin still came up and played the cd.
Still couldn't copy it via Windows Media Player.
Uninstalled the skin.
Went straight back to Windows Media Player and *hey presto* it worked perfect. Copied the cd and the tracks now reside on my mp3 player.
I used TIPEX because I thought it would be easy to remove with a little white spirit. But if anyone has any better ideas post 'em down below.
