Personnaly I cannot see why anybody would want to use any other search engine other then google.

Its already on its way out of favour in the states. People are getting pissed right off with the tailored search results.

E.g. you search for iPod and you get a full page of Kelkoo results, or a full page of amazon results.

Linkfarms are ruining what once was the webs only truly perfect site.

all the web is quickly rising, and would do the same here if only they added a proper UK search.

Almost forgot to add, the rumoured takeover by Microsoft isn't helping its cause.

Funny you should mention alltheweb I recently came across that and have been using it alot more as it is a bit more of th way google used to be.

I've always been using http://www.ixquick.com which has been excellent.

Google is destined to go the way of all search engines once their popularity makes them the almost "universal" index.

Just look at altavista.digital.com (aside from the DEC->Compaq->HP issue...)

Agree about all the linkfarm stuff - it is getting really annoying in Google. I'm afraid it has spoilt what was by far and away the best search engine on the web.
