Question Problems with Roadangel & XP

I've had a Roadangel for a couple of months now. Last week, I had the unit swapped out because it was faulty. The new unit works fine in the car, but I'm having problems when I try to connect to receive database updates.

In the dialogue box, I get a message saying 'Break Received' amd occassionaly 'Buffer overflow'. I never had any problems syncing the old unit and I'm at a bit of loss on this one. I've checked firewall settings, serial port conflicts etc etc but no luck.

Nothing has changed on the PC (no new apps etc).I have downloaded and reinstalled the program that Roadangel provide. PC is running fully patched XP Home (and I have got a call outstanding with Roadangel tech sup).

Anybody had anything similar (search didn't reveal any threads)?

Thanks
Chris

Mine will only update through a dial-up connection. It will not play ball with NTL broadband.

Make sure GPS output is switched "off" on the Roadangel unit.

Gold star to BuRR - that was the problem. I've just had an email from Blackspot confirming that this is the problem.

Cheers
