Ive got abit of a small problem with my PC. Ive recently downloaded some music and software for my computer then all of a sudden ive found a dialup connection on my dialout list. Ive tried deleting it but to no avail. So what do i do next? This was recently on watchdog and is scarring me now cos it tries to disconnect me occassionally and tries to reconnect to its own ISP and run up a hugh bill.

Could someone with a little bit of pc knowlegde help me out?

Try the usual adaware or spybot, they usually take care of these things.

I'll download it now, just hope that hasnt got anything in it though, thats like adding salt to the wound, lol!!!

also, run the update function on Adaware before using it to make sure its reference file is bang up to date!

Another thumbs up for Ad Aware 6, i run it most days if the PC is sitting doing nothing - it usually finds the odd tracking cookie but occasionally something more sinister...

Right ive just downloaded it, cheers guys, its removed alot of crap but the dialup still remains. Its called DIDI. Anyone know anything about it, at least i think its a dialup

what you need is spybot search and destroy...

however what the proggy has done is write to yoour startup file and made changes to the registry..

depending on you pc ability,,, you can search the registry and remove all references, ansd also your startup folders...

however,, these program writer are wise to that, and in nine out of 10 cases that dosent work,,,

you need to contact bt and have 09 numbers blocked... it may not work from a pc though,,,

if you have broadband, this apparantly isnt an issue, becuase they connect differently,,

the 3 options left are,,,

1 the worst one,... a complete windows reinstall,,, ie a reformat & start again is a pain, but sometimes the only way...

2 let the dialer run ,, some times, they cant connect, cos the number or line at the other end has changed.. then after 30 secs, the modem times out and hangs up.. then you can reconnect using your normal dial up conection...

3 allways turn your pc off at night, not into suspend or wake on modem options..

wer u using kazza?? ... oh and visiting sites of ill repute!!!

made sure i had 09 number blocking .. and it stops swmbo from phoning qvc!!!!!!!!!!

have you started the p.c up in safe mode? and tried to remove the connection? search for the name of the connection and delete any files of the same name

Hey guys, i used kazza then i downloaded a real-player and played a few car movie's and since then it went mental, i will start it up in safe mode and have a looky.

Thanks for the info, i can see myself doing a complete reinstal which is a pain.
