ADSL wiring / two providers
Hi All,
Here is the scenario:
I work from home and will shortly be switching from ISDN to ADSL. I'll want to be using one of the PIPEX Business plans for internet provision to one PC.
I'll have a second PC that will be used to also connect to the 'net via ADSL but run a VPN client into my HQ. The ISP providing the ADSL for this connection will not be PIPEX.
I.e. I need to dial two different ISP from two different machines. Before you read on, is that actually possible or is an ADSL line fixed to a single ISP ?
Way I see it I have two options:
1. Get an ADSL router that has switchable configuration, i.e. if machine A asks for internet, gives me the PIPEX ADSL, if machine B asks, dial the other ISP. Do such routers exist ?
2. Both machines have ADSL modems that connect to the same line via an ADSL "splitter" at the micro filter. Do such devices exist ?
In both cases, I will only need to use the ADSL line from one machine at a time.
Any help gratefully received.
Cheers
Ian
