Default Outlook and McAfee Spamkiller

I decided to switch to outlook, but Spamkiller stayed with OE,so i uninstalled OE,but still no joy

so i uninstalled Spamkiller, put it back in,and still no luck, but MacFee security centre says its enabled?

I suppose the only thing to do is reinstall Outlook? after an hour setting the bugger up?

Do you not have to switch it on under Tools, Options, Other, Advanced, Add-in Manager..?

From memory, I might be mistaken....

From www.mcafeehelp.com

How do I setup SpamKiller 5 with a POP3 account in Outlook?

SpamKiller 5 does not automatically detect POP 3 accounts when they are in the Microsoft Outlook mail client. The account must be entered manually in SpamKiller and then Outlook must be pointed to SpamKiller.

Enter the POP 3 account information into SpamKiller

1. Right-click on the 'M' icon.
2. Go up SPAMKILLER > SETTINGS.
3. Double-click on E-MAIL ACCOUNTS.
4. Click on the ADD button.
5. Mark the box next to "Add an account that is not on the list" and click on the NEXT button (if necessary).
6. Type in the email address for the account you wish to setup.
7. Verify that "Standard e-mail" has been selected and click NEXT.
8. Verify that the user name has been entered correctly.
9. Enter in the password for this account and click NEXT.
10. Enter in the Incoming e-mail server (POP 3) address.
11. Enter in the Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) address and click NEXT.
12. Specify the type of connection to the internet and click NEXT.
13. Click on the TEST button to verify that SpamKiller can login using the information just entered.
14. Click on the NEXT button and then FINISH.

NOTE: If the test referenced in Step 13 fails, click on the BACK buttons to verify that the information entered is correct.

Point Outlook to SpamKiller

1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
2. Click on TOOLS > EMAIL ACCOUNTS.
3. Select "View or Change existing email accounts" and click NEXT.
4. Highlight your POP 3 account and click on CHANGE.
5. Under the "Server Information" heading, change the Incoming mail server (POP 3) address to 127.0.0.1.
6. Under the "Login Information" heading, change the User Name to your full email address.
7. Click on the NEXT button and then the FINISH button.

Please note that the SpamKiller 5 tool bar is not supported with this particular configuration. If you wish to use the tool bar, you should setup Outlook Express as your email client program and the setup that account into SpamKiller 5.

I'll check, but think the help file's wrong rather than you or I.

Should add that Spamkiller will still be working and the functions of the toolbar are available from the Security Center icon in your system tray. I don't have a licence for Outlook here at home and am locked down at work so it's difficult for me to test.
