What should I do first with new Ipaq?
Just ordered my first ever Ipaq, an HP 2210 which sould arrive in the next day or two.
So what do I need to do first? Any essential downloads, tips, setup options etc?
Will mainly be using it for diary, emails, work schedule etc.
What about games, music, multimedia etc - any tips.
Cheers

Check out http://www.pocketpcsoft.net/ and http://www.freewareppc.com/, some great free stuff to be had there.
When you've put a load of software on it, BACK IT UP ! AND KEEP BACKING IT UP EVERY WEEK ! Because if you don't, you'll kick yourself when you have to reload everything on it when (not if) it craps out on you !
My top software recommendations are PocketTV (mpeg player), Asteroids and Pac-Man !
Buy a big CF or SD storage card too - believe me, you'll need it once you start storing MP3s, MPEGS etc.

I got a 256Mb SD card for my 5550 off Ebay for about £50.
Please beware there are some issues running SD cards on a 2210, sometimes they don't like certain cards. Check the HP Support forums for more details.

oh and check your bios BEFORE you load anything!! 1.10 is latest, then there is an SD patch on the HP web.
Note CF is cheaper than SD if you want loads of storage.
regards,
greg

Enjoying it now, but just noticed tonight the screen has a dead pixel
A recent Canon Ixus II I bought as a pressie also had a dead pixel, why cant I buy a decent LCD product?
Anyone know what HP's dead pixel policy is for PDA's?
I bought it from Rankhour.com (C&A Electronics)

Is that the old BIOS then? Where can I get the new one?
Is the dead pixel thing common as well?

Hmm, it wont let me download the update for some reason.
When I do dl it, will I have to re-configure everything, or can I restore a backup? I have no programs installed (except Kevtris ), but I worry about all the settings reverting.

No worries, just done a hard reset anyway - HP advised to do it to try and rid the dead pixel - it didnt work
So looks like it has to go off to service already
