ADSL
Hi Chaps,
Just got adsl installed, temp. using a alcatel speedtouch usb modem, looks like a stingray.
Installed the drivers as instructed, then fitted the modem. Modem is sync'd and in theory should be connecting happily. But it wouldn't actually get through to the server. I then check the settings. And I realised it has installed the wrong VPI and VPC settings, I think for another country.
it's installed 8/35.
The right details are as follows:
Protocol: PPP/VC (sometimes called: PPPoA or PPP over ATM)
VPI=0 VCI=38
Encapsulation method: VCMUX
Modulation method: G.DMT
Primary DNS Server: 194.106.56.6
Secondary DNS Server: 194.106.33.42
Anyone know how the heck to sort this out, you can't configure those details once it's installed, for some reason it things i am in a different place I think. I have checked regional settings, and they're all good.
I am miffed, and really p'eed off with having adsl here, but having to dial up to use the net. Obviously I can't download the latest drivers from t'internet cause dial up just a joke.
