region code is usually in the firmware of the drive and it is quite possible you can flash the firmware to make it region free.
You might want to search on here to see if they list a firmware patch.

Look for some software on the net called DVD-Region Free it is a great little program and it works i use it all the time you can watch any region dvd on your pc with it either via media player or Power DVD or other dvd playback software hope this helps you out.

Another piece of software that does the same thing is AnyDvd by SlySoft. Work really well. No need to worry about regions any more
