I have a PC that is running Office 2003. I am having a problem with it - When in Outlook and I delete an e-mail that is in my "Inbox" it permanently deletes it as opposed to deleting it and putting it in my deleted items folder.
Anyone got any ideas why this is happening?? been through all the options/settings but can't seem to find anything about when e-mails are deleted.
I don't even get a prompt to ask if I want to permanently delete them (like you normally do when deleting your deleted items). I have another 2 PC's that have the same version of office on and were installed in the same way and these work fine!
Any ideas?????????????????

You sure about the options section. Instructions below for express but full outlook may/will be similar. Is the inbox linked to the isp for your e-mails? i.e. check the website to see if it's in the deleted folder there.
Help instructions - If you don't want messages to be saved in the Deleted Items folder when you quit Outlook Express, on the Tools menu, click Options. On the Maintenance tab, select the Empty messages from the 'Deleted Items' folder on exit check box.
Failing that, try the MS website technical section.

Thanks for the info but still can't seem to fix it. Might try un-installing then re-installing office but I know from past problems office seems to "remember" it's settings/problems!
Outlook is just setup to send/receive mail from a service providers POP3/SMTP mail box so doesn't use their web pages or anything like that.
I have also tried MS technical support but still nothing.
