I'm thinking about buying a new PC.
It'll be a home PC, but I want it to be powerful enough to run the latest games.
What sort of spec would you recommend? Don't want to spend loads - thinking of around £700.
Oh - want one with a TFT monitor too![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I've seen a Mesh one with:
2.8 GHz Athlon processor
512 Mb RAM
160Gb HDD
17 inch TFT
128Mb Graphics
for that sort of price - any good??? Is 128Mb graphics enough? Machine I've got now has only 16Mb, (3 years old) and does struggle on stuff like Age of Mythology etc - though does work. I'm hoping 128 is more than enough - certainly hugely better than what I'm used to.
Any recommendations? I'd consider a MAC too, but haven't got a clue about their specs, and what you can run on them (e.g. games / linux etc).

Depends what type of gaming you're into.
Mac's don't have the same support for games as PC's. Two recent games like Far Cry and Splinter Celll aren't offered on Mac platforms.
You could just get a XBox for games and a Mac for everything else.
Mac's ain't cheap and you'll not find one for £700 unless you go 2nd-hand. Take a look around the Apple Store

Ozzy's right though, you won't find many Macs under 700. I bought my first one off ebay it was a Dual 867Mhz I paid £950 with a 19" TFT monitor. Although last month I sold it for £850 without the monitor, so really it cost me nowt. They hold their value very very well.
