Hi there, i have built my own web site, which is hosted on PIPEX, my ISP.
I have registered my own address and pointed it to my webspace. All working fine, thanks to the scoobynet peeps![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I wish to add security so that anyone who wants to access a specific set of pages within my site, they get prompted for a login.
I don't want anything too fancy, just enough to keep the layman out, it doesn't have to be super hack proof or anything like that.
Basically I am going to be a daddy soon, I want to post pictures for my family to see ( the baby, not me! ), but I do not want them to be in the public domain.
any help greatly appreciated

Ever thought of using www.fotopic.net You can choose to have password protection on whichever galleries you like.
Maybe, create ur website with links to the fotopic site.
Something like this >>> EXAMPLE

I now have password protected sub-domains, but before that I always used hidden sub-directories, which are not linked from the homepage. These sub-directories were never found by the search-engine crawlers and only those who knew about them could easily find them.
e.g. www.unknownwebsite.com/sprog
(don't click the link, I made it up)

I use Gallery, which is a PHP module. Not sure if Pipex support it though, this allows you to create user groups with logins and permissions etc. Very useful, just not sure about it's compatibility with Pipex.
