Thumbs up Site testers required...

Hi,

Just developed a (non-scooby related, alas) site and was after a few testers - any kind of browser would be good.

The url is http://www.surreyuni.com/

Any design problems with the site etc please feel free to post them.

Ta

Works in Safari ver 1.2.2
Works in Mac IE 5.5
Works in Firefox for Mac

All tested on Mac OS X Panther.

If its a standards compliant browser it will work.

Looks good & fast in XP IE6 800x600. Suggest in the courses section to take out the mailto & use a form instead. Otherwise you'll get it harvested by spambots.

Thanks very much for all the feedback - especially the form / mac comments

Had to do a bit of mucking about with CSS in order to get boxes and things to work in non-IE browsers (or should that be work in IE?), so glad to know it works on a variety of platforms and browsers as it should do.

Ta once again - incidentally speed is nowt to do with me, it's hosted with Titan Internet Ltd

On an XDA2, the text on the right is in a long long scroll with only about 12 characters max per line (words work ok)

Thumbs up

Glad to see people using proper xhtml and css validation

Meets single A approval on http://www.w3.org/wai

Fails double A:
- improperly nested headings, i.e. h1 followed by h2 followed by h3.

Fails triple A:
- No text language identified.
- Some adjacent links seperated only by whitespace.

Not sure if I like the cyan for the submenus, maybe too much contrast for my eye.... just a personal opinion.
