the reverse lookup work fine but there seems to be half the amout of farward lookups with the dynamic updates
I was looking on the net and as we are using a single label domain name ( don't ask, I never set this up ) there seems to be problems I have done the sp4 reg change but Im now pulling my hair out
It clutching at straws posting on here as I feel not allot of people will have seen this problem..... fingers crossed

Not sure what you are saying
I take it you mean that there are only half the reverse lookups as there are forward lookups (which are created from dynamic updates)
Have you set to allow dynamic updates on the reverse lookup zone
and also are all your clients on the same subnet, if not you will have to create a reverse lookup zone for each subnet

we have about 50 v lans and yes dynamic updates are on and seem to be working as I have about half the amount of forward lookups than reverse lookups
reverse seems to be 100 % correct
Im not sure if this has not happened from the day it was setup as we have never really needed to use dynamic updates, I have now setup a sms2003 server and it is discovering all the clients but it seems very very slow i.e 50 pc's a day where we have 3k pcs
when I look at the collections lots are not assigned so im guessing this is a dns problem
