The laptop BIOS is reporting to you on startup that it cannot find its primary hard drive.
It sounds as if the hard drive inside your laptop has failed.
You can usually take the hard drive out of a laptop, by unscrewing a screw & a latch - pull the HDD, and put it back in again, then retry - if no joy I think you will need a new HDD.

the easiest way to get the data off a laptop is buy a laptop to PC IDE disk converter. You can then chuck the disk in the PC and pull the data off to the PC's main disk.
Should cost you no more than £5.00

another trick (and i'm being serious here) is:-
Switch the laptop on, and immediately clonk firmly the HDD area - ideally directly on the HDD with a soild, weighty object, something like a screwdriver handle - this may shock the drive into working again, sometimes the actuator arm may get stuck and the stepper motor isnt powerful enough to shift it.
keep clonking it until you hear the drive spin up.
I have got out of the crap more than a few times like this.
If it works & comes on - GET YOUR DATA OFF whilst its on - don't switch off or let the laptop power down - you risk not getting it back on again.
Lets face it - you've got nothing to lose by trying this - but go easy - i'm not talking about a 4lb lump hammer here!

Something we do here is take the drive out first and whack it down on a desk, that way you wont damage any other components or the casing of the laptop! Hitting it hard on the desk spreads the force across the drive instead of one contact point like you would get if you hit it with a screwdriver handle.
