IE 6 Problem with Multiple Windows......
#1
![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
recently my pc has decided it will only open 1 IE 6 window at a time !
if you try to open a 2nd window all it does is refresh to your default homepage in the already open window.
it will not open multiple IE windows ?
have run a virus scan.......mcafee and no virus is reported.......
tried to search around mircosoft support but without success so far.......asked a few people and no one else has seen this before.....
anyone seen this and got ideas to solve ?
thanks

Can recommend Mozilla Firefox. You get tabbed browsing (i.e. multiple windows as tabs in the browser rather than loads of windows, simple idea but so effective. If nothing else, this is as good a reason as any to use Firefox. easy to use after IE too).

WWSD: RE: Firefox is a very good browser if it doesn't work on certain sites, that is not a bad browser that is a bad designer who does'nt understand how to code for cross browser / cross platform compatability (which is their friggin job). My website works on IE, Firefox, and tested it on most mac browsers works just peachy too.
Steve: If you're getting multible windows opening it could be a weird code that you've picked up on dodgey website, spyware/aware type, not a full on virus in the sense that it replicates it self, but that will be a pest, **** sites are bad for such things. Apart from virus scanners have you tried adware or spybot?? (If not, do a google for those two download them, and run).
If there is spyware or adware in your reg or IE files these will pick up and remove them.
Failing that, you probaby havne't got much choice but to re-instal as it sounds like something has corrupted.
Although a friend of mine has recenly downloaded a program that tweaks registry for you, think it might be called tune up. Never used it myself, but he is quite happy with, and thinks its sorted out quite a few problems, maybe worht a go, you get a 30 day trial.
