I am haveing a big problem with my laptop. I have a toshiba satellite pro 4600, with a DVD ROM installed. My issue is that the computer is just reading the DVD as a CD ROM and not allowing me to watch any DVD's. I have looked for the driver for the DVD ROM with no luck. I am not even sure what brand the DVD is ( I am assuming that it is a toshiba). If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this computer to work please let me know.

Have you got a decent software DVD player such as PowerDVD XP? The drive may need the region setting on it. Are you running XP as it needs no drivers.

You tend not to need a driver for the DVD. If it's a DVD film you want to watch, you will need some DVD playing software such as PowerDVD mentioned above, or WinDVD. Then it'll play fine. If it just contains data on the DVD disk, you should be able to read it off as if it was just a CD.
