At work on sat - rant
Came in to assist with some network upgrades that should have been finished by 11am, they're still ongoing 
...and one of the Bulk power regulators on our S/390 has just failed which is fookin great. Que long wait for Synstar to come and fit a new one.....
There goes the rest of my day
I hate computers
I hate working weekends (esp with computers)

I was at work this morning for 3 hours 9-12, doing some prep for a rollout in a few weeks.
1.5x standard pay regardless of day
And in a few weeks we are moving our datacentre, + installing a new network,
That's a while weekend at 1.5x

Well I quite often have to work at the weekend (some evenings as well) and don't get paid anything extra to my standard wage at all, (i.e. work at home at weekends for nothing). So think yourselves lucky!!

I co-maintain the MP3 jukebox you might have seen in some pubs, if it ever has a problem it's when it's very busy, Friday/Saturday nights when I ought to be out too

I wish I got more than time (1x) for being here at weekend
Still only one more night of 24x7 support, then I've got my evenings back for a couple of weeks, until the next week of it...
Sooo tired!

1x isn't that bad, but some of my junior colleagues get paid more per hour on a Sunday than I do cos they get 2x - work that one out!
Was just tired yesterday, finally got the issues resolved at 3am this morning, then another one kicked off at 6am... gonna be a busy day!

I won't mention that I spent yesterday walking in the sunshine in the Peak District 
However, I was up at 5.30am on Friday to investigate the alert SMSs I got around 1am that morning to say a server had gone off the 'Net

You lot are a bunch of Wusses. Back when I was doing tech support I was on call 24X7X365 and did it for 4 years. Probably illegal though. No overtime, just a 40 quid flat fee, no matter how long it took.
